Commonly used points
The points of the urinary bladder meridian are used for treating headache, eye diseases, blurring of vision, epilepsy, nasal obstruction, epistaxis, rhinorrhea, dizziness, tinnitus, mental confusion, neck rigidity, pain in the shoulder and back, cough, asthma, palpitation, chest pain, abdominal pain, vomiting, pain in the hypochondriac, haematemesis, night blindness, diarrhoea, tuberculosis, dysentery, indigestion, pain in the back, abdominal distension, stiffness of lower back, weakness of knee, deafness, leukorrhea, irregular menstruation, backache, constipation, pain in the hip joint, prolapse of uterus, scanty urine, impotence, haemorrhoid, cramps in the leg, lumbago, feverish sensation in sole, convulsion, difficult labour.
Ub 1 Position
At the elbow, the hollow between the biceps and the forearm.

Indication
Redness, swelling and pain of the eyes, tearing when attacked by wind, contact lens, allergy, headache.

Special properties
Clears 'wind' in the eyes.

Ub 2 Position
At the head of the eyebrow.
Indication
Frontal headache, blurring of vision, lacrimation when attacked by wind, swelling and pain of the eyes, twitching of eyelids, hiccup.
Special properties
Increases energy of the eyes, hiccup point.

Ub 10 Position
Two fingers down from the edge of the skull at the back of the neck.

Indication
Blocked nose, neck pain, pain in the shoulder and back, headache.

Special properties
Increases energy of the neck, improves nose and eyes energy, clears obstruction of the nose.
 
Ub 13 Position
Two fingers lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the 3rd thoracic vertebra.

Indication
Flu with fever, chronic cough, asthma, whooping cough, afternoon fever, tuberculosis, night sweating, haemoptysi, backache, shoulder ache.

Special properties
Anti fever point, increases lung qi.
Ub 23 Position
Same level as the navel, two fingers lateral to the spinal column.

Indication
Backache, bloody stools, seminal emission, weakness of knee, enuresis, impotence, diabetes, nephritis, blurring of vision, leukorrhea, infantile paralysis, early morning diarrhoea.

Special properties
Increases kidney qi, increases energy of the eyes and ears, strengthens lumbar region, backache point.
Ub 40 Position
Midpoint of the crease at the back of the knee.

Indication
Pain at the knee, pain at the back and waist, cramps of lower limbs, thirst, heat stroke, fever, boils, eczema.

Special properties
Clears 'heat' in the blood, anti-fever point, backache point, hypertension point, increases lumbar and leg energy, decreases heat from the urinary tract.
Ub 57 Position
Midpoint at the back of the lower leg.

Indication
Sprain, heamorrhoid, pain in the sole, spasm in the leg, prolapse of rectum, constipation.

Special properties
Relaxes muscles and tendon, cools the blood system, regulates the energy of the colon and anus, aids constipation and heamorrhoid.
Ub 60 Position
Place first crease of thumb on highest point of ankle towards the back of foot on the outer aspect of leg.

Indication
Headache, neck rigidity, blurring of vision, epistaxis, backache, pain in the heel, spasm and pain in the shoulder, epilepsy in children, difficult labour.

Special properties
Strengthens the lumbar region, increases kidney qi, relaxes muscles and tendons, increases urinary bladder qi.
