Our ancestor the great Hong Dao-Gong (洪道公) is the direct descendant of Hong Hao (洪皓) in the state of Wei during the Warring States period (403BC~225BC). Dao-Gong was the Imperial Scholar (进士) of Emperor Ningzong (宋宁宗) during the Southern Song dynasty (1127-1279). He held the title of Provincial Military Commander-in-chief (翰林院兵部侍郎) and the position of Vice Minister of Defence, Appease Ambassador of the Jiangnan West Road (江南西路安抚制置大使), grade 1 official (从一品).

At the end of Song Dynasty, China was occupied by the army of Kublai Khan and established the Yuan dynasty (1271). China suffered rampant killings and massive famine under the Mongol hordes. The province of Fujian saw major anti-Yuan uprising resulting in frequent massacre of civilians unrest. Only Lingnan and Jinzhou (current Hainan Province) escaped the unrest.
According to another branch of the Genealogical records from Guan Tang Cun (官塘村) in Guangdong Province, the great Hong Dao Gong together with his second son migrated to Hainan during the third year of the Yuan Dynasty (AD1297).
The eldest son of the great Hong Dao, Hong Ren Yuan (洪仁元), was the Imperial Scholar (进士) of Emperor Lizong of the Song Dynasty. He held the position of tans-shipment officer (任鸿胪寺卿升礼部四司转运使) in the equivalent of the current day Ministry of Education, grade 3 official (正三品).
The second son of the great Hong Dao, Hong Ren Heng (洪仁亨), was also an Imperial Scholar of Emperor Lizong. He held the position of Investigating Censors (监察御史) and Provincial Magistrate of Yunan An Xun City (云南安顺知府), grade 4 official (正四品).
Third generation descendants Hong Man Wang (洪满旺) was the Provincial Logistic and Infrastructure Officer of Guilin Province, grade 5 official.
Fourth generation descendants, Hong Wan Bang (洪万邦), was a Military Scholar. The great Hong Wan Bang began as an officer in AD1333. During an uprising by the Li clan (黎族起义), the provincial government were under seige. The mobs were plundering the locals. The great Hong Wan Bang was ordered to suppress the revolt. And for gallantry displayed during the quelling of the revolt the great Hong Wan Bang was promoted to the rank of General (万户镇抚使), grade 5 officer (从五品).
